Kentucky Utility Bills Rise

By Chris Taylor

Frankfort, KY – Kentucky Utility customers' electricity bills rise over seven dollars today based on a ruling last week by the state's Public Service Commission. The utility has some 11,000 customers in western Kentucky. The higher rates are designed to recover costs for repairs from past year's natural disasters, such as the 2008 wind storm and the 2009 ice storm.

The rate increase is expected to be in place for the next decade.
