Hickory, KY – Kentucky State Police have gone on the offensive against marijuana production in three counties in western Kentucky. State police say that as of this past weekend, 589 marijuana plants had been eradicated in Livingston, Lyon and Trigg counties. Those plants would have brought an estimated street value of nearly 1 point 2 million dollars if they had reached maturity.
Police say two people have been arrested and charged with cultivating marijuana as part of the crackdown. Authorities are urging people to come forward with any information regarding marijuana production. State police say the callers may remain anonymous.
