Kentucky's First Green Public Housing to Break Ground

By Chris Taylor

Paducah, KY – Paducah's Housing Authority plans to break ground next week for a senior citizens housing development complex on H.C. Mathis Drive. Executive Director Cal Ross expects the series of one-story duplexes to be available next summer. Construction begins this month, which will see a total of 30 apartments go up. The Paducah Sun reports the complex will be the state's first LEED-certified public housing project. LEED is an international standard for energy efficient and environment-friendly constructed buildings.
