Paducah, KY – The National Symphony Orchestra will spend an entire week in Kentucky early next year. During the mid-February residency, the 100-musician orchestra will perform concerts in Paducah, Louisville, Florence, Owensboro, Lexington and Somerset. First Lady Jane Beshear is excited about the upcoming visit.
"I'd like to thank the Kennedy Center and the orchestra for accepting the Commonwealth's invitation to choose us as the residency for this year. And thank you for sharing the music with us, come February."
The orchestra will also offer a wide variety of community outreach programs during its residency, including chamber music performances, in-school ensembles and art advocacy training. To participate in such events, contact the Kentucky Arts Council by September 10th.
