Massac County, IL – Officials in Massac County, Illinois can meet payroll this week, with only $15,000 left in the coffers. County Treasurer Floyd Sullivan says part of the payroll comes from court fees and income tax. But he says the county also relies on salary reimbursements from the state, which have recently been late. Illinois owes the county about $263,000, some bills going back to February. For each two-week period, Massac County payroll averages $100,000.
