McCracken property values edge up, only slightly

By Jacque Day

McCracken County, Ky. – Property values in McCracken County are up slightly since last year, by just over one percentage point. The overall increase is powered by a rise of residential and farm property values, up some $48 million over the last year. An $11 million drop in commercial property values, the first such reversal in nearly two decades, has offset larger growth on the whole. The decline in commercial assessments marks the end of years of substantial annual increases. Property Valuation Administrator Nancy Bock says next year her office will reassess farm property, and in 2012, commercial and residential properties.
