Murray, KY – Murray State University is $50,000 closer to a project exploring biomass opportunities in western Kentucky. The Kentucky Governor's Office of Agriculture presented the symbolic check at the Agri-Energy Field Day last week. Murray State's Office of Regional Stewardship and Outreach gave $32,000, and many regionally agriculture development offices collectively gave $12,000. The goal is to develop a profitable network of biomass producers and businesses. Participants hope to explore the use of oilseeds, sugar crops, trees, and other crops for alternative energy.
