Paducah, KY – Paducah may soon have a new city manager. City commissioners are offering the position to Ben South of Canon City, Colorado. Commissioner Gerald Watkins tells the Paducah Sun South just seems to be the perfect candidate. Commissioners are readying a compensation package to offer South at tomorrow's city meeting, where they plan to introduce a contract ordinance. Whether or not South will accept the position is now contingent on agreeing to salary and benefit details. City officials hope South will take over for Interim City Manager Jonathan Perkins by the first of September.
