Clarksville, TN – A fire has damaged Owensboro's famous Moonlite Bar-B-Q Inn, but the owner says he expects to reopen soon. The Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer reports the Monday afternoon electrical fire was contained to one area. One of the restaurant's owners, Ken Bosley, says he hopes to reopen Tuesday.
Firefighters were called to restaurant around 2:30 pm when fire was spotted on the side of the building. Owensboro Fire Chief Steve Mitchell says a meeting room suffered fire damage and the entire building had smoke damage. The eatery, which opened in 1963, has won awards for its barbecue and has been featured in several national travel publications.
