Pennyrile Region – Kentucky State Police say location is a factor in the lack of arrests associated with the seizure of more than 800 marijuana plants in the Pennyrile area last week. Trooper Stu Recke says, marijuana plants tend to be confiscated from rural areas such as fields, wooded areas, and strip mines. He says, the growers usually plant them on someone else's property to make it more difficult to identify the source. Kentucky State Police have reported no arrests from last week's marijuana sweep. The KSP estimated the plants at more than $1.5 million in value.
