Cadiz, KY – A nearly year-long homicide investigation of a Cadiz woman found dead in her car in Mayfield may soon come to a close. Kentucky State Police say Betty Kelsey was found dead in her vehicle in the parking lot of the Jackson Purchase Medical Center September 14. Kelsey's husband had reported her missing a week and a half before. KSP Trooper Dean Patterson says the woman's death has been under homicide investigation. He says there have been no suspects, and he doesn't expect the case to remain a homicide when it's closed. Patterson says results of a toxicology report remain classified until the case is closed. He expects that to happen soon.
