Clarksville, TN – Clarksville's City Hall is without a Chief of Staff after Mayor Johnny Piper fired Vincent Camacho Tuesday. City spokeswoman Christie Hill says Camacho's termination was for not meeting expectations of the position, but declined to elaborate on any specifics. Camacho's tenure at City Hall lasted only four months. The position entails directing department heads on behalf of the mayor and acting as a liaison to City Council members. Camacho tells the Clarksville Leaf Chronicle he was shocked to hear he was fired, saying he had an agreement with Piper to resign. Christy Hill confirms this, but says Camacho failed to produce a letter in the agreed-upon timeframe.
