State Audit Criticizes McCracken County Clerk's Office

By Chris Taylor

Paducah, KY – A state audit of McCracken County Clerk Jeff Jerrell's office raises questions about personnel policies and how employees' work hours are recorded. State Auditor Crit Luallen released the report yesterday, which found no problems with the handling of money. Jerrell tells the Paducah Sun the report confirms he runs his office in an efficient and honest manner. Jerrell's office in June was the target of many criticisms by members of McCracken's Fiscal court. Jerrell last month reduced the office's allowance of employees' holiday and sick time and says he's installing a time clock this week to address the new concerns.
