Hopkinsville, KY – Lacy Elementary School is closed today. School officials say many students, teachers and staff members have fallen ill. About 30 percent of its students were absent yesterday along with 16 teachers and three staff members. The Christian County Health Department has determined the illness is virus-based and symptoms include nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. The district plans to reopen the school on Monday.
Parents are urged to keep sick children home for 24 hours after their symptoms subside.
