Carlisle County, KY – A multi-billion-dollar coal-to-liquid fuel refinery may be built in Carlisle County. Clean Coal Power Resources of Western Kentucky is in talks with property owners about buying some 3,000 acres there. For two years, the company has been considering building at Riverport-West in McCracken County, but company officials say a Carlisle County location would satisfy its fiscal requirements for the plant. The Paducah Sun reports the site would be at the northern end of the county along the Mississippi River and the Ballard County line with access to US-51 and a major railroad line.
