Clarksville, TN – The board that oversees the Clarksville-Montgomery County Airport has had ample warning about inadequate accounting practices which enabled an employee to spend thousands of dollars on personal expenses. A Clarksville Leaf Chronicle open records request and investigation finds the Tennessee Department of Transportation, two separate city auditors and the airport's own auditor all reported the same problems in documents dating back to 2003. Those reports mirror this year's city audit, which uncovered thousands of dollars of personal items bought with government funds over a three-month period.
