Education Panel Takes on Kentucky Questions

By Angela Hatton

Paducah, KY – Residents will join school officials tonight for panel discussions broadcast live on Kentucky Educational Television. The program will focus on education, and draw questions from ten locations across the state. Ideas generated from the discussion will go before the Transforming Education in Kentucky, or TEK task force. State Senator Ken Winters of Murray is on the committee.

"There's a lot of talk about whether Kentucky needs to have a charter school or a public school choice law, so that topic could come up."

Winters expects participants may also ask about school funding initiatives, and ways to help students transition to post-secondary programs. The TEK task force plans to present its recommendations for consideration during the next General Assembly session. The panel discussion begins this evening at seven.
