Outlaw Field under scrutiny

By Rebecca Feldhaus/Clarksville Leaf Chronicle

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville's Outlaw Field is under scrutiny for accounting discrepancies including personal spending by employees. Officials from the Tennessee Department of Transportation say in 2006 they noted inappropriate spending of $6,800. Upon request, the Airport Authority paid back the money, but TDOT continues to monitor their accounts with the field. Authority Chairman Ron Whitford tells the Clarksville Leaf Chronicle the issue is lack of funding for more staff and prompting more oversight. Fully staffed, the airport has just two full-time employees.
