Paducah, KY – An investigation into former Paducah city manager top pick Ben South's background shows a discrepancy between his resume and background check results. City-contracted consultant Jim Mercer declines to specify what that is. However, the Paducah Sun finds a 14-year period on South's resume didn't actually occur. South had listed he was an assistant city manager in Westminster, Colorado, but the city's human resources manager says otherwise. South served as a police officer there during that time. Paducah officials still hope to hire a new city manager within three weeks.
