Frankfurt, KY – Kentucky state officials have updated fish consumption advisories for the Ohio River. The advisories warn consumers about the unrestricted consumption of some fish. They stem from elevated levels of Polychlorinated Biphenyls, or PCBs, and mercury in tissue samples. Pregnant women, women who may become pregnant, children, nursing mothers and their infants are most at risk. The advisory states at risk groups should eat no more than one meal of fish per week.
