Christian Co. School Employees Prevent Abduction

By Chris Taylor

Hopkinsville, KY – Two Christian County Public School employees are being praised for preventing a child from being abducted and possibly harmed. School spokeswoman Regan Honeycutt says murder suspect Michael Johnson waited outside his mother's home attempting to gain custody of his child. Bus driver Fheda Bass knew Johnson recently had an emergency protective order placed against him and refused to hand the child over. She contacted the Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School and Assistant Principal Neil Hight drove to the scene to return the child to the school. Police now believe Johnson's mother Deborah was already dead inside her home at that time. Johnson is now in custody in connection with her death.
