Madisonville, KY – An armed standoff in Madisonville yesterday morning ended in an arrest with no injuries. Police say David Cotton barricaded himself inside a garage apartment on Race Street. He allegedly assaulted then held his girlfriend Jessica Bennett hostage. She was able to call police and he released her shortly after a large force of officers surrounded the apartment. He later surrendered. The Madisonville Messenger reports Cotton's charges include kidnapping, carrying a concealed weapon, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, assault and wanton endangerment.
