Louisville, KY – Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer says he hasn't made any firm decisions yet about his political future. Farmer and Senate President David Williams have discussed running together on republican gubernatorial ticket, with Williams in the top spot. Farmer says he'll make up his mind in a "couple of weeks."
"I'm just still in the process of trying to decide what to do for me. I think David is somebody I respect a great, great deal. He's very, very intelligent--I think he understands state government, probably as well as anyone in Frankfort."
Farmer said he hasn't ruled out running for governor himself, or seeking another constitutional office, such as secretary of state. He is prohibited by term limits from running again for agriculture commissioner.
