Murray, KY – State park workers are exempt from Friday's state mandated furlough day. This Friday is the first of six furlough days this year required for state employees to help trim Kentucky's budget. Because state parks are expecting crowds for Labor Day weekend, park workers will take their furlough day later this month. The furloughs are expected to save 24 million dollars for the state in the first year and prevent layoffs for 413 state workers.
