Bredesen Creates Mental Health Council for Tennessee Soldiers

By Jacque Day

Tennessee – Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen has established a special council to address mental health problems and substance abuse issues among Tennessee soldiers and their families. The council emerged as a result of talks between officials of Fort Campbell, the Tennessee National Guard, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. It will build upon the efforts of the Tennessee Veterans Task Force, an active informal group that advocates state-wide training for mental health and addiction.
