Murray, KY – The recent level one drought and sweeping dry winds put the region at an increased risk of wildfire. Meteorologists with the Paducah National Weather Service say this afternoon winds will pick up to 10 miles per hours with higher gusts possible. Combined with the relatively low afternoon humidity of 10 to 15 percent will substantially increase the risk for wildfire. The expanding drought will only increase the hazard further.
