Paducah, KY – The Paducah-McCracken County Joint Sewer Agency will see savings of one point seven five million dollars in bidding for the first of a three phase construction project to improve service in western McCracken County.
The Paducah Sun reports the bid came in at two and a quarter million dollars, well below the J-S-A's four million dollar estimate, thanks in large part to the sluggish economy. The project's total cost is projected to be twelve million.
The first phase will improve service to three industrial parks, the new McCracken County High School and other areas west of Paducah. J-S-A Executive Director John Hodges says all three parts of the project should be completed by 2012.
