Murray, KY – The Kentucky Economic Development Secretary wants state businesses to develop global relations to benefit the economy. Larry Hayes emphasizes the importance of strengthening trade with other countries.
"Kentucky is the eleventh, on a per-capita basis, largest exporter of the fifty states. So what we do here, what we build here, we need to be able to sell throughout the world."
Hayes says Kentucky is the third largest automobile and light truck manufacturer in the country and encourages partnerships between local businesses as well as exporting Kentucky-manufactured goods. Secretary Hayes spoke this morning at a joint Murray Calloway County Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corporation breakfast.
