Fort Campbell Honors 11 Fallen Soldiers

By Chris Taylor

Fort Campbell, KY – Fort Campbell honored 11 fallen soldiers yesterday holding its largest Eagle Remembrance Ceremony yet since the 101st Airborne deployed to Afghanistan earlier this year. Since June, the division has incurred 42 casualties. Seven soldiers died last weekend alone; most in improvised explosive attacks. Fort Campbell rear detachment commander Lieutenant Colonel Joel Hamby tells the Clarksville Leaf Chronicle the number of casualties should slowly decrease as troops become familiar with their battle space.
