Mayfield, Ky. – Graves County's Sedalia Elementary School is a 2010 national Blue Ribbon School. The U.S. Department of Education gave the honor to only six Kentucky schools. The Blue Ribbon designation is recognition of academic excellence, student achievement and improvement. Principal Robert Braden says the award is based on five years of performance data. Braden and a teacher will travel to Washington D.C. to accept the award in November.
