Murray, KY – The Kentucky League of Cities' annual conference is this week in Louisville. It's the first since former director Sylvia Lovely stepped down.
Lovely left the organization months after a state Auditor's report detailed exorbitant spending by KLC executives. The Louisville Metro Council considered, but then withdrew a resolution requesting the KLC return some of the money it had received from the city.
Interim executive director Neil Hackworth says the KLC has a healthy relationship with its clients. He adds that even more city officials from across the state are expected to attend this year's conference than attended last year's.
" Mayors, city managers, city administrators, city clerks, council members, commissioners about 575 folks."
The conference is Wednesday and Thursday downtown.
