Fort Campbell, KY – The Department of Defense says a Fort Campbell soldier has died after he was struck by an improvised explosive device in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. 26-year-old 1st Lieutenant Todd W. Weaver of Hampton, Virginia, died late last week. He was an infantry officer assigned to the 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division.
Weaver joined the Army in October 2006 and came to Fort Campbell in April 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Emma and daughter, Kiley, both of Clarksville, Tennessee.
