Murray, KY – The Kentucky League of Cities will hold its annual conference in Louisville this week. Interim Executive Director Neil Hackworth says city officials from across the state will meet Wednesday and Thursday downtown.
"They can get information on how to run your city, things that you need to be looking at to do your job effectively, ideas on how to maybe reach out and improve things such as economic development."
This is the KLC's first conference since former director Sylvia Lovely stepped down. Her resignation came after the state Auditor's office uncovered lavish spending by the organization's executives. The Louisville Metro Council considered a resolution asking the KLC to return some of the dues paid by the city, but withdrew it last year.
Hackworth says the KLC now has a good relationship with Louisville.
