Paducah, KY – McCracken County's Fiscal Court yesterday gave initial approval to rezone a 47-acre Old Lovelaceville Road property to be used as a construction debris landfill. Property owner Randy Wiersma says the landfill will hold no hazardous waste, cause no odor, and will not host a steady stream of trucks. The Paducah Sun reports fiscal court members are expected to consider final approval of the measure in two weeks. The ordinance would change the property's zoning from rural residential to agriculture.
