Former Paducah National Guard Armory Hits the Auction Block

By Chris Taylor

Paducah, KY – Kentucky is offering the deed to the former Paducah National Guard Armory on Clark Street up for sale to the highest bidder. The state is accepting sealed bids until the beginning of October. The 5-and-a-half acre property was declared surplus after the Kentucky National Guard moved to a new facility at Barkley Regional Airport. The Paducah Sun reports the property's last appraised value rested just over a quarter-million dollars. The state reserves the right to reject bids including the highest offer if it's less than the appraised value. The buildings will be open for public inspection on the afternoon of September 22.
