Frankfort, KY – Kentucky prosecutors have asked the state's high court to allow an execution scheduled for Thursday to go forward, saying the condemned inmate has exhausted all of his appeals. In filings yesterday afternoon, Assistant Attorney General Heather Fryman said a "substantial miscarriage of justice" will occur if the stay of execution issued in Gregory Lee Wilson's case isn't lifted. Wilson's execution halted, saying there's evidence the inmate may be mentally retarded and that Kentucky's execution process was flawed. Wilson was convicted in 1988 of kidnapping, raping and murdering a 36-year-old woman in northern Kentucky a year prior.
