Calvert City, KY – Governor Steve Beshear speaking in Calvert City yesterday announced another major tax incentive package for industrial reinvestment. A $25 million construction project slated for next summer will build a furnace at Calvert City's Gerdau Ameristeel plant. Company officials say the Commonwealth's $6 million tax break will help secure their operation's 139 jobs. The Calvert City plant is among 16 mills that make up North America's second largest mini-mill steel production network.
