Cadiz, KY – Trigg County's First District Magistrate plans to step down in October. Judge Executive Stan Humphries says Shannon Knight has not officially tendered a resignation letter, but he's told the fiscal court he will be leaving October 18. Knight, a Democrat, chose to step down because he received a job in Bowling Green and will no longer live in Trigg County. Humphries says Governor Steve Beshear will likely not fill a replacement until after the general election. Humphries expects the local Democratic Party will help make the decision.
