Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay University officially opened its recently completed Hemlock Semiconductor Building just over a year after breaking ground for the facility. The two-story, 20,000-plus-square-foot building has about $2 million worth of equipment donated by the company. At an opening ceremony yesterday Hemlock CEO Rick Doornbos told a crowd the building will enhance APSU's chemical engineering technology associate degree program, giving students the tools and skills to invent tomorrow. The Clarksville Leaf Chronicle reports Hemlock is constructing a $1.2 billion solar components plant in Clarksville.
