Kentuckians for the Commonwealth New Committee

By Tony McVeigh

Murray, KY – The non-profit citizens group Kentuckians for the Commonwealth wants the freedom to speak out on political issues. So the group has formed a political action committee called New Power. KFTC board member Megan Naseman says the PAC plans to buy issue ads for radio, print and television.

"While we're not intending to particularly endorse candidates at this point in time, we do want to have the ability to say this is who's running and this is where they stand on issues that our organization values and that matter to real Kentuckians."

Energy efficiency and clean, renewable sources of energy are the PAC's top priorities. To kick-off fundraising efforts, KFTC is giving the New Power PAC $100,000. The PAC can be found at newpowerky.org
