Paducah, KY – Contractors will get two more weeks to prepare bids for constructing McCracken County's planned consolidated High School after board members voted to open bids on October 8th, which was originally slated for the end of this week. The move comes at the request of several general contractors who say a low number of electrical and mechanical subcontractors have prepared their portion of the bids. School officials expect extending the bids should increase the overall competition for the work. The Paducah Sun reports the school board anticipates awarding a contract on October 14th.
