Clarksville, TN – Clarksville officials have green-lighted a plan to overhaul Third Street, reducing its lanes from two to one to make way for a bike lane. The plan also calls for eliminating current metered parallel parking and install a diagonal design, where drivers would back in at an angle. Parking Authority Chairman Jeff Robinson tells the Clarksville Leaf Chronicle the model is much easier and safer than the current downtown setup. The new design is expected to effectively double parking capacity along the street.
