Calvert City, KY – Westlake Vinyls will pay $800,000 to settle federal and state violations of environmental regulations at its Calvert City plants. Under a consent decree submitted Monday in US District Court, the Houston-based Westlake doesn't admit to any wrongdoing or liability, but does agree to take corrective actions. Commonwealth and Federal officials say the company's two Calvert City plants, which produce PVC pipe and related products, had hundreds of clean air and water violations. Kentucky will receive $100,000; the federal government will get the rest.
