Executive Inn Sales Wane; Demolishers Ready

By Chris Taylor

Paducah, KY – As Paducah's Executive Inn liquidation sale enters its final week, demolition crews are beginning to mobilize. Liquidators say about 75% of the hotel's contents have been sold and the companies in charge of tearing down the building expect it will take several weeks before the work will be seen on the exterior. Next Tuesday, Mayfield-based Youngblood Excavating and PRC Environmental workers will begin disconnecting live utilities, removing hazardous materials and erecting safety fences as the first steps in tearing down the former hotel. The Paducah Sun reports the nearly $300,000 demolition contract has a deadline set for March.
