Paducah, KY – McCracken County Board of Elections members will not request Clerk Jeff Jerrell to step down as chairman since he's running for re-election on the November ballot. Members tell the Paducah Sun they have no concern Jerrell's service will compromise the election. Yesterday's board action came in response to requests from Clerk write-in candidates Becky Bowers and Mark Kidd. Jerrell's two challengers had asked him to step aside to avoid any appearance of impropriety.
