Murray, KY – Calloway County's E-911 System is going independent. The fiscal court gave approval this week to a measure that will allow the system to seek a $30,000 grant to upgrade their phones. The Murray Ledger and Times reports the Kentucky State Police had handled Calloway's emergency calls. The switch to the local sheriff's department is expected to save money and shorten response time.
