Paducah Commissioners Approve Dog Park

By Chris Taylor

Paducah, KY – Paducah city commissioners yesterday approved an amendment to add a dog park area in Stuart Nelson Park. That's if supporters are able to match as much as $20,000 in city funding. Park Maintenance Superintendent Trace Stevens is expected to begin a public fundraising campaign. Stevens says the proposed park would have a shelter, fencing, running water, pet waste receptacles and depending on how much money supporters can raise, could include such amenities as specialized water fountains and dog agility obstacles. The closest public dog parks are in Murray and Owensboro.
