Paducah, KY – A Kentucky Department of Corrections investigation into escapes from the privately-run Paducah Community Service Center halfway house, including one in April involving four inmates, is slated to be finished at the end of the week. A state police investigation into bribery allegations involving employees at the facility is ongoing. Authorities say the facility's owner, Florida-based Keeton Corrections, has cooperated with their inquiries.
The Paducah Sun reports after investigations began in May, the state ceased sending felons to the 7th Street facility, and the population has since dropped from 101 to 57. Most of the residents are in outside work programs, including non-profit and government agencies. A total of seven inmates have escaped this year.
