Murray, KY – Murray State University's College of Education has received a $1.3 million estate gift commemorating an alumna. The gift is the college's largest received to date. It comes from the estate of Selman and Katherine Franzman in honor of their daughter, Barbara Sue Franzman Beasley who graduated from MSU in 1960 and fell ill and died earlier this year. The family's gift will create two endowments for incoming college of education freshman scholarships starting next year. President Randy Dunn thanks the Franzman family "for their vision in advancing the future of education in the Commonwealth."
