Peoria, IL – A panel expected to recommend how Illinois implements the new national health care law is holding its second meeting today. The Illinois Health Care Reform Implementation Council plans to hear from health care providers, the general public and others affected by the law. Governor Pat Quinn formed the panel in July. Its members include the chiefs of agencies overseeing public health, insurance, services to the elderly and the Illinois budget. Illinois has been an active partner in the implementation of the Obama administration's health care overhaul, unlike 20 states currently mounting court challenges to the law.
